Ms. Spock (she/they) is a Chemistry teacher at NEC. She grew up in Texas before moving to Colorado, and is proud to have taught in Montbello for her whole teaching career. Ms. Spock has a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin, and went to CU Denver for her master’s in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. As as student, she’s always loved hands-on learning and questioning how things work – which makes sense that she always liked science. Before teaching science, Ms. Spock worked in a biochemistry lab that studied new technologies for wine profiling, managed a college dining hall, interned in local high schools, worked summer camps, and more! Spock spends lots of time outdoors, trying learn more about geology, plants, animals, gardening, and nature. In her free time, she likes to fix/build/craft things, read, figure skate, and hang out with her dog, cats, and favorite people.
