Wolf Pack Families and Students,

It is very important for us to keep you updated on incidents impacting your students and our campus. Today we had an incident take place in a classroom that caused us to respond by putting our campus on both a “Hold” and a secure perimeter. A “hold” is when teachers are asked to lock their rooms and close their doors. No student is allowed to be in the hallways during a hold, but business can continue within classrooms. We needed to call this to ensure order in the area near the classroom. A secure perimeter is when we must secure all external doors due to an outside threat or potential outside threat to our building. In our response to this incident, we also needed to hold students from lunch for ten minutes in their classrooms until the area was secure.

I want to thank our students and staff for listening to all instructions today, while we worked to address the incident.

For the students who were in the classroom and in surrounding classrooms when the incident took place today, we deeply apologize for the actions of others that negatively impacted your social-emotional well-being and learning. All of our educators have been provided with more information on what to do if a student would like to talk about the incident from today.

More information will be going out to families about changes we will be making to increase the safety and security of our campus, including closing campus for lunch unless a student qualifies for a Principal Pass, as well as other measures. Please look for that soon.

If you have any questions about today’s incident, please call the school at 720-424-2450.

Sincerely,

Stacy D. Parrish

Principal

Atentamente,

Stacy D. Parrish

Directora
