Mrs.Criste teaches Mathematics (College Algebra /Trigonometry /Calculus /Statistics) at NEC and this is her 8th year as part of the Wolfpack. She is also leading the Mathematics Department/ the Wellness Champion at the school for Staff Members and the Team Specialist. She loves approaching mathematics from a creative/inquiry based point of view and seeks to find ways in order to accommodate best students learning. She is originally from Romania, Europe. She has a Bachelor Degree from University of Oradea, Romania and she has a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science since 2005. She also has a Master Degree in Ed. Management, finished abroad as well, since 2010, a Post Graduate from Relay Principal Fellowship Program and in the process of becoming a National Board Certified Mathematics Teacher. She came to US in 2005 and lived in South Carolina for few years, before moving to Colorado. She loves working with students differentially in groups; using technology and takes pride when her students are learning. Mrs. Criste is married and has two smart and beautiful girls: Aria (13) and Allegra (10). She loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling (ask her about her recent trip to Asia, Europe, Tour of US and the countries she visited there). Her favorite summer vacation spots are: Disney World for fun and Sarasota, on the Gulf of Mexico, for relax time. Sushi is her favorite food and she loves the smell of coffee (Starbucks White Mocha is the best). Besides traveling, Mrs. Criste likes staying active (running, yoga, lifting weights, tennis, biking, hiking), reading, painting, photography, finding creative solutions to problems and learning something new. One of her favorite quote belongs to Albert Einstein: ” It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” She wants to see her students succeed, be college and career ready and just be the best that they can be! “Multumesc!” — That is “Thank you!” in Romanian.
