Jen Portillo (she/her/ ella) is starting her 23rd year in education in Denver this year as a teacher and 2nd year as a Senior Team Lead working with social studies and world languages.She teaches history through Community College of Aurora and this year will be offering Introduction to Latinx studies and Ethinc Studies through CU Succeeds at UCD. Jen is a proud DPS graduate, received her B.A from Tufts University in history and her M.A. in East Asian Languages and Cultures as well as completing coursework toward a PhD in history from UCLA. Jen lived in Beijing China for three years between college and graduate school. She has four children who all attended/graduated from DPS schools. She is very excited to be a member of the Wolf pack!!! She loves NEC and being part of an early college model!
